Update on next short story and ... RECIPE!

I might have doctored it a little.

Hey folks!

I'm going to work on getting you the next Bethany Anne short story in about a week... Or less.Look for it! I won't be providing both parts to the web (for now) - so do jump on the email list if you would like it earlier.

As I get older (fewer responsibilities, fewer toys, etc. etc.) I find myself in a quandary.

I have the money to go eat out more often, I just don’t want to. Don’t get me wrong, I probably still go out / get food delivered than is healthy by a long shot but I find myself not WANTING anything fancy or sophisticated.

If you call steak, bread, and baked potatoes sophisticated, that is.

Either way – I am making a LOT of soup these days. And not just any soup – I’m talking that old college ‘I’m broke as shit’ soup Ramen Noodles which you can still (occasionally) find for 4 @ $1.00.

The Chicken Flavor.

I wasn’t a big fan of the soup for most of my life. I’ve been a big Lipton Chicken Soup (boxed soup) fan since a teenager and felt Ramen was just too salty. However, my wife introduced me to doctoring the Ramen soup and I’ve rarely gone back to Lipton.

I do, just not that often.

For the last year or two I’ve been adding red pepper flakes and a bit more chicken bouillon to the soup before I serve it. My wife likes adding lemon juice and seeds. You know those sesame seeds on the top of hamburger buns? Those seeds.

I don’t like lemon flavoring and find the seeds add nothing for me, so it’s just the red pepper flakes.  <--- Excellent Choice (if I say so myself... and I do.)

However, I thought I should try adding something new and BY GOD the next iteration of Awesome Soup Hacks by Authors™ has been figured out!

What is this awesomeness? I’m glad you asked because I want to share.

It’s Italian Seasoning. A few shakes (or five in my case) with the Ramen Noodles/chicken seasoning / red pepper flakes (to taste) and this starts to taste like a soup that you paid damned good money for.

Try it and let me know how you like it!

RECIPE

1 Bag Ramen Noodle Soup (Chicken flavored)Red Pepper Flakes (to taste)

Chicken Bouillon Seasoning (a little extra to taste)

Italian Seasoning (2-5 shakes from the bottle to taste…not too much!)

Cook as directed but add the seasonings all while the water is heating up.

These author notes above were taken from the Author Notes in book 02 of the Hellcat Series.

P.S. Please, no one tell me Italian Seasoning is responsible for cancer or anything because I've started adding this stuff in damn near any dish that remotely looks like it could be enhanced by the flavors.Jello, by the way, is not a good choice.

Just saying.
