Quick Update

Why the radio silence, Mike?

It has been a LONG time since I wrote last.

Reasons…

Partially ‘busy as hell’ (spent the full month of June in Europe at two (2) 20Booksto50K© events (Madrid, Spain and in the Netherlands) and a speaking event for SPSLive in London.

Had business meetings in Spain, Italy, Netherlands, and England.

I came back to America exhausted.

Then, I dealt with medical ‘stuff’ in the beginning and end of July, with the medical fun continuing into August and frankly emotionally I was a little checked out.  Finally got past all that fun and I’m finally in our Cabo house.

Where I hope to stay for weeks.

So, all of that to say ‘I’m sorry’ for leaving all of you a bit high-and-dry on what’s going on.  I’m not a person who shares a lot of my life and certainly I’m not one to share crappy stuff (that is just part of life and I rather desire to share the good and keep the bleh personal.)

So, totally going to share the good!

Like did you know that FINALLY the first Chooser of the Slain (Valkyrie) Book 01 came out today?  I’ve been waiting for this series to release for five @#%@# D1!#%! MONTHS.

FIVE.

For those of you who know me, that’s like asking an 8-year-old to wait ‘until Grandpa and Grandma make it here tomorrow night’ to open Christmas presents. I can’t stand to wait with books on the shelf.

It’s like peeling back my eyelids and dropping in rubbing alcohol. SOOOooo much pain.

Well, ok, it’s mental pain… Why? Glad you asked.

I’m biting my fingernails hoping some of you like it as much as I do.

Valkyrie 01

I decided to build an action adventure / thriller with Odin getting himself involved (in a minor way) with Earth. I’m fortunate that I’ve already read book 04 in the series, but I have NO ONE TO FREAKING TALK TO about it.

Zen-Master-Steve® likes thrillers but isn’t usually too keen on paranormal / urban fantasy stories. He said he had started to read the book that just released and “I’m loving the story. About half-way through.”

Since Valkyrie doesn’t do much for the first part of the book, I’m hoping I have him hooked enough to enjoy the characters such that when Valkyrie makes a bigger reveal, he cares enough to continue.

I’m not holding my breath, but a man can dream.

TWICE A YEAR… SO FAR

Every six-months or so I review what projects are on our plates, what release dates look like, what genres we are releasing into and a ton of other story-creation / operational publishing issues I need to review to keep this publishing company in stories to publish.

I’m now doing it for the third time making plans into second quarter of 2023.

While I would love to share what the new stories are, I can’t do that without sharing the same information with our competitors who might decide to jump in front of our queue.

So, I’m thinking that I might make up a lot of false stuff just to see if it happens. That was my first thought.

My second was ‘what if the fans actually WANT one of those series?’ (Not a totally bad thing, really) followed by ‘What if the competitors DID create the series and blew it out of the water?’

I’d be chagrined, for sure.

So, I’m back to working on a way to release some cool stuff that we are doing, without the details.

Details to … uh… follow.

WHAT ABOUT THE NEXT SHORT STORY?

I’ll work to bring you another short story in the next week or so ;-)

Ad Aeternitatem,

Michael Anderle
